The Government of Telangana may have its own satellite to telecast channels, which would be against the recommendation of the telecom regulator TRAI forbidding states to have their own TV channels or distribution platforms like cable TV networks, though the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has still not given its nod to this recommendation.

On July 25, the Delhi High Court has permitted the Multi-system operators (MSOs) to implead in the case filed by Tata Sky and Bharti Telemedia challenging TRAI’s tariff order and interconnection regulation. The plea was placed by the All India Digital Cable Federation’s (AIDCF).
According to Crisil Research, mobile data usage will grow a moderate 12% annually and touch 2-2.5 GB per user in the five fiscals through 2022. The report also added that the data usage will stabilize after 2022. It said from 2012 to 2017, India’s mobile data usage per subscriber rocketed at 80% annually to around 1.25 GB per month on increasing adoption of 3G and 4G services, free data offered by Reliance Jio, and a sharp 40% fall in tariffs in the past fiscal alone.
