The group’s revenue from operations jumped 3.42% to Rs 163.2 crore compared to Rs 157.8 crore. Total expenses jumped 8.79% to Rs 126.6 crore as against Rs 116 crore. Its operating profit from the TV broadcast segment dropped to Rs 42.5 crore from Rs 43 crore. Revenue from the segment remained flat at Rs 140 crore from Rs 139.8 crore.
If we look at its operating loss from FM radio, it is more than doubled to Rs 4.49 crore from Rs 2.91 crore. Revenue increased by 42% to Rs 5.8 crore from Rs 4.08 crore.
The group had got the licence to launch Aaj Taj HD in August from the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB).
In its filings, the company said: Launch of new current affairs & news channel in the name and style of AajTak HD. The said news channel is proposed to be launched in the month of November 2018 or on such other date as may be deemed fit.”
