But at the ceremony of the first Indian News Television Awards hosted by Indiantelevision.com on 18th July 07 at New Delhi, the scene was bit outlandish as the TV18 Group of News Channels made an incredible success by receiving as many as 16 awards. The NDTV Group was the second leading award winner that had in its pocket a total tally of 14 awards out of a total of 49.
Asia's largest Infocomm and Media event, 'Broadcast Asia' has been scheduled from 19-22 June 07 where it invites all visionaries, Government leaders, policy regulators and professionals. Keeping this in mind sports broadcaster ESPN Star Sports is launching 'Star Cricket', a dedicated cricket channel especially for audiences in the Indian subcontinent. ESPN bagged the $1.1 billion telecast rights for International Cricket Council (ICC) including the next two World Cups last December and announced the launch of the channel on 24th April 07. These rights that commence from September 2007 will expire in the year 2015.
