IM: Thanks. We are very pleased with the progress of both channels. It has indeed been a great achievement for us at INX Network. When we started 4 months ago in November 2007, we were only a concept: a totally new network, with infrastructure being built, staff being recruited, systems being put in place, zero brand awareness and zero GRPs. Today, INX Media is already recognized as a major player in the Industry, with both 9X and 9XM. With new shows coming onto 9X and the total dominance of 9XM in Music, our position is strong. And, of course, the soon-to-be-launched premier English news channel, NewsX, will add to this network strength.

Last month, Cable Quest reported the budget 2007-08 as a huge disappointment for the industry. Proposals were mooted by the industry representatives such as FICCI, CII and IBF and the regulator, TRAI. But all their aspirations went in vain specially with the biggest disappointment that came up with the withdrawal of exemption from countervailing duty (CVD) on set-top box (STB) manufacturing parts, due to which the importers will now have to pay a whopping 16 per cent on CVD to get the equipment from outside India.
