Excitel aims to add 4 lakh subscribers by March 2020

Excitel Broadband, the leading broadband service provider, is eyeing 4 lakh new subscribers by March 2020. It has already achieved 3,00,000 subscribers. Excitel has a plan in place which will aim to connect 50 million urban and semi-urban homes of India to the Internet on pure gigabit fiber (FTTH).

At present, it is present in 10 cities, including Bangalore, Lucknow, Jaipur and Kanpur.

Vivek Raina, founder & CEO, Excitel Broadband, commented: “By transforming tens of thousands local TV cable operators into fiber infrastructure providers, Excitel creates sustainable small businesses and opens jobs for even uneducated people.” 

Excitel has created a new business model, which is decentralized model, resulting in an ecosystem of tens of thousands of eager small partners that maintain the internet last mile in a relatively small area of few square kilometers.

“These are small entrepreneurs who are highly competitive and very serious about their business. Their job is to invest in the last mile network, connect users and fix issues,” the company said in a statement.

The company’s affordable packages at the base price of Rs 500, a family of six today can have gigabit access to the Internet which is 50 times more than any mobile service.
