The manufacturer sees opportunity in cable TV as well as the direct to home (DTH) market. In cable TV, the company feels that the biggest opportunity is in digital addressable system (DAS) phase IV areas and expansion and up-gradation of the existing networks.
Catvision said that the implementation of the tariff order will pave the way for a large number of LCOs to set up their own networks. Thiswill open huge business opportunities for the company as there will be increased demand for headend and STBs.
Catvision is now planning to launch a slew of products this year that are competitive and also incorporate some streaming features like casting and search. Stand-alone streaming products are also under development.
Catvision is now present in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Africa.In April 2018, Catvision had bagged an order worth $1.05 million to supply one lakh STBs to customers in Nepal. It has also established its own Multi Media Development Centre (MMDC), which designs and develops next-generation products for the industry.
In DTH, the company plans to launch STBs for DD Free Dish service. Catvision is one of the 11 STB manufacturers empanelled by DD to supply MPEG4 STBs for Free Dish.
