Nearly 12.32 lakh set top boxes (STBs) across the country have now been integrated with iCAS, the indigenous conditional access system (CAS) developed by Bengaluru-based ByDesign India in association with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, India (C-DAC).
As per RS Sharma, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman, TRAI is working towards making set top boxes (STBs) interoperable by the end of 2019.

Net loss for the quarter was Rs 32 crore as against Rs 28 crore.
On 13 January, the appeals filed by multi system operators (MSOs) Digicable network India and Scod18 Networking were dismissed by the Supreme Court. The appeals were against the cancellation of their digital addressable system (DAS) licence by the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB).
A tender to auction 58 Logical Channel Number (LCN) slots has been issued by the multi system operator (MSO) Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV) on 7 January.
