email this page

The Delhi High Court has started hearing the cases for DAS extension, transferred from High Courts of other states on the orders of the Supreme Court of India and on 8th September gave a notice to the MIB. The result so far is not encouraging as in all the 20 cases taken up this month so far, they have been adjourned for the next dates.

Thirteen cases that were to be heard on 7th September by Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva could not be heard as the single bench did not assemble after the lunch break. These cases alongwith two more cases to be heard by the same bench on 13th September were postponed to 05 October 2016 as 13th was declared a holiday on account of Eid.

IBF’s impleadment application could also not be taken up because of the above reason.

Five cases that were to be heard on 8th September by a Division Bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangeeta Dhingra were also adjourned to 26 September after issuing the notice to the MIB.

A Summary of the above cases is available on the Cable Quest Website.

As reported earlier, there are a total of 62 cases filed for extension of deadline in various High Courts and many of them are yet to be transferred to the Delhi High Court.
