While Khusboo Multimedia, Hari Bhoomi Communications, Kasthuri Medias, and Ganesh Digital Networks have received two licences each, Shraddha M.H One TV and Live India Today Entertainment have received one licence each. Eight are non-news while two are news licences. The licences were granted between 1st till 27th November.
Khusboo Multimedia has received non-news uplinking and downlinking licences under the name Popular TV and Tamasha. The company already owns and operates Khusboo Bangla. Hari Bhoomi Communications has received two news uplinking and downlinking licences under the name Janta TV Madhya Pradesh and Janta TV Chhattisgarh. The company already owns and operates a Hindi news channel called Janta TV.
Kasthuri Medias has got the licence to launch two non-news Kannada channels Kasthuri Comedy and Kasthuri Gold. The company runs a Kannada GEC Kasthuri TV besides a Kannada news channel Kasthuri News 24.
Ganesh Digital Networks has got the licences to launch Studio One Plus and Studio Yuva. The other two licences include Shraddha Vishwas Aapka and Wave Wings.
The list of revoked licences includes The Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Pvt Ltd and ZEEL. The cancelled licences include Mathrubhumi News North and Mathrubhumi News South. ZEEL‘s non-news uplinking-only licence Zee ME has also been cancelled.
The total number of licences issued has gone up to 919 while cancelled licences have increased to 290.
