The group will spend Rs 10 crore on the channel revamp initially. It has already invested Rs 30-40 crore on the Hindi GEC. It is pertinent to note that the channel was launched on 15th August 2019.
Initially, there will be four fiction shows and a library of 150 Bhojpuri movies. The company sees growth potential in the Bhojpuri market. The channel will focus on key Bhojpuri markets like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand besides cities with sizeable population of Bhojpuri speakers like Delhi and Mumbai.
The channel is available on DD Free Dish besides other digital cable and DTH platforms.
Creative Channel Advertising and Marketing president Sahib Chopra said: We are re-launching Manoranjan Grand as a Bhojpuri GEC as advertisers are looking at the Bhojpuri speaking markets. We see good potential in the Bhojpuri market in terms of advertising. The genre has seen significant growth.”
