SPNI business head digital Uday Sodhi said: “The platform will be having nearly 70 channels and hope to take this to 120+ in the near future. In the last three months, we have added 50+ live TV channels across news, regional, lifestyle, special interest, and niche genres.”
Sodhi added the goal is to take the number of linear channels to 150+. “We will keep adding based on the consumer response and consumption patterns.”
SonyLIV has also added many third-party channels across genres like news, lifestyle, and regional.
Sodhi added, “We want to make it a complete offering led by news. News is a big genre where we are not present. Besides news, we are also focussing on niche areas like food, travel. There are entertainment channels from languages that we are adding.”
