On 8 Feb, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released a press note in which it stated that the discount or waive off on network capacity fee (NCF) for the second or additional TV connection should be uniform in the target market area of respective distribution platform operator (DPO).

On 18 Jan, telecom regulator TRAI released the Telecom Subscription Data as on 30th November, 2018. As per the reports received from 306 operators, the number of broadband subscribers increased from 496.12 million at the end of Oct-18 to 511.90 million at the end of Nov-18 with a monthly growth rate of 3.18%.
Replying on the OTT consultation paper seeking the views of stakeholders to bring the OTT communication services under the regulatory framework, several distribution platform operators (DPOs) have requested the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to widen the ambit of the consultation paper about the regulatory framework for over the top (OTT) communication services.
