From a record attendance to the first standing ovation for an award winner, IBC2016 was a great success by any measure. In the opening keynote session Dominique Delport of Havas Media warned the audience that “the 50 year party is over”, but underlying IBC’s global theme of transformation, he – and every delegate and visitor – found much to be optimistic about.

Rohde & Schwarz has expanded its successful R&S VENICE ingest and playout platform to include the R&S VENICE Control application. The R&S VENICE Control ingest software for controlling complex multicamera recordings makes it possible to record up to 16 independent channels in all conventional production and broadcast formats. This is the highest number of channels per system available on the market. Single-channel and multichannel recordings are processed in a flexible client-server configuration.

After a long wait some of the cases filed by small MSOs and Cable operators in various High Courts for extension of DAS deadline are coming up in Delhi High Court starting 7th September. Earlier the Supreme Court had ordered all cases related to DAS extension to be transferred to Delhi High Court on the request of I&B ministry.
