Apple's App Store finally includes TRAI’s DND app

After much bickering and wait, finally the iPhone maker Apple has included telecom regulator TRAI’s Do not Disturb (DND) app on its app store. The deadline was January 2019; post this, the TRAI might have derecognised devices that bar installation of the DND app.

TRAI and Apple were having a cold war for nearly two years over the so-called privacy details sought by the country's regulator while flagging spam calls. Apple had maintained that it would violate its policies if it allowed access to call logs and text messages of users.

Apple had agreed to include about 75% of the features of the DND app in its new OS, while sticking to its privacy policy, which doesn't allow access to user call logs and messages.

The surprising this is that this DND app is available not just in India, but in all countries.
