Reliance Jio is introducing its "All-in-one" or AIO plans, which will be priced up to 40% than previous plans, but will offer up to 300% more benefits. These new plans will be effective from December 6, 2019.
At present, Vodafone-Idea, Airtel & Jio combined serve nearly 1 billion customers in India.
Vodafone-Idea & Airtel will increase prices from December 3.
Jio announced that it "determined to strengthen the telecom sector." It added that it will take measures including appropriate increase in tariffs in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments.
Bharati Airtel has increased tariff in the range of 50 paise per day to Rs 2.85 per day. Its popular bundled plans offering unlimited calling and data that were earlier priced at Rs 249 (28 days validity) and Rs 448 (82 days validity) will now cost Rs 298 and Rs 598 (84 days validity) respectively. The telco has also increased minimum recharge from Rs 35 to Rs 49 for a month.
Vodafone Idea, too, has announced new plans for prepaid product and services with 2 days, 28 days, 84 days, 365 days validity. It said that local, STD and national roaming voice calls from Vodafone to Vodafone and Vodafone to Idea and vice versa are considered as on-net, while rest calls are off-net.
